Kakomë Bay · the clearest water on the route
Kakomë is the bay people remember. Set about 13 kilometres north of Sarandë between the village of Nivicë and Cape Qefali, this horseshoe-shaped cove is one of the calmest and most isolated on the entire Ionian coast — and home to some of the clearest water in Albania. White pebbles, sheer cliffs and dense green hillsides frame a bay so transparent the boats above it seem to float on glass. On the Easy Go route, this is the clearest-water swim stop.
Kakomë's water is the headline. Sheltered by its horseshoe shape and far from any river mouth or development, the bay stays exceptionally clear and calm — perfect for diving straight in, swimming over the pale seabed, or snorkelling along the rocky edges where marine life gathers. If you take one swim on the trip, many travellers say this is the one.
Roughly 300 to 400 metres wide, Kakomë is framed by cliffs and thick vegetation with no functional road in. That isolation keeps it far quieter than the busier beaches of the Riviera, and gives the bay its untouched, almost private feel — even in high summer it's a world away from the crowds of Sarandë and Ksamil.
With no working road access, Kakomë is reached almost entirely by sea. Boats run from Sarandë and the surrounding coast, and the bay is a fixture of the area's best boat tours. On the Easy Go route, Kakomë follows Gremina and leads into the grand finale at Krorëz Beach — back-to-back swims in the two clearest bays on the coast.
