Anchor Bay

Gjiri i Spirancave · a secluded turquoise cove between the swimming stops

Photo & video stop · ~5 minutes Photo & video from the boat (no swimming)

Anchor Bay — Gjiri i Spirancave in Albanian — is a quiet, rock-rimmed cove on the Ionian coast near Sarandë, and one of those in-between moments that makes a boat tour feel special. The water glows turquoise against pale cliffs, the bay is tucked away from any road, and the whole place has a calm, sheltered feel that earns its name. It's a short scenic stop on the Easy Go route, slotted between the dramatic Turtle Cave and the first proper swim of the day.

A sheltered pause on the route

Not every great spot on the Riviera is a beach you can land on. Anchor Bay is a stop you take in from the deck: the skipper slows the boat, the bay opens up between the cliffs, and you get a few minutes to take photos and soak in the colour of the water before moving on. It's a natural breather in the day — calm, scenic and quietly beautiful.

What you'll see

Clear turquoise shallows shading into deep blue, rugged limestone walls, and the kind of untouched, low-rise coastline that's becoming rare around the Mediterranean. With no development crowding the shore, the bay keeps the wild, off-the-map feeling that defines this part of the Albanian Riviera.

How to visit Anchor Bay

Like most of the best coves around Sarandë, Anchor Bay is reached by boat. It sits on the open Ionian coast between the route's cave and beach stops, so the easiest way to see it is as part of a full-day speedboat tour from Sarandë. On the Easy Go route it's stop two of five — a brief, photogenic stop before the boat heads to Gremina for the first swim.
